This tour is organized jointly by the Silicon Valley Association, Silicon Valley Europe and Webster University and is open mainly to post-graduate students and technologists
The tour is a scheduled course in Telecommunication Management curriculum at Webster University.
Registration for this course is optional and will open during the 2003 Spring II term.
Program highlights
Sunday May 11 - Geneva - Amsterdam (individual travel, suggested flight Easyjet 958) train to Leiden check in Hotel Nieuw Minerva next to the Webster Leiden Campus
Monday May 12 Kick off meeting at Webster University with the Dutch participants. Guided tour of the historic city, afternoon visit to TNO Telecom research laboratory in Leidschendam. Welcome dinner in the evening
Tuesday May 13 Day visit to Amsterdam Visit to SARA computing and Networking services and to the Waag society for new and old media. Evening entertainment in downtown Amsterdam
Wednesday May 14 Day visit to Delft and the Technical University (Presentation by Prof Wim Vree: ICT Infrastructure along the Dutch roads and waterways), afternoon visit to a traffic control center.
Thursday May 15 Visit to the Dutch railways headquarters in Utrecht. Presentation by Marc van Heumen: I-mode and other mobile applications, afternoon visit to Exo'vision a Videophone company.
Friday May 16 - Day visit to the east of the Netherlands - We will be received by the city of Enschede and visit local projects such as the Technical University, Internet Exchange and start-ups
Saturday May 17 Last chance to visit the Keukenhof, the world famous flower gardens, or other activities, individual departure to Geneva in the evening.
The cost of this tour is CHF 1490/Euro 1000. The price includes single accommodation, local transportation and several meals (tour with shared accommodation is available for CHF 990/Euro 665)*
