Introduction

The Silicon Valley Association (SVA) has been a pioneer in promoting and organizing specialized visits to information technology companies in Silicon Valley and beyond.
Academic and executive tours have been operating from Switzerland since 1992. Academic sponsors of SVA include the University of Lausanne, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich and Webster University in Geneva. Programs are organized and directed by Henri Slettenhaar, founder of SVA and former research associate at Stanford University. Limited space, register now!
The number of participants is limited to 20 to ensure maximum participation and interaction. It is recommended to reserve your place as soon as possible.

The Program

The purpose of the tour is to explore key developments in the field of information technology. Comprehensive visits to universities, high-profile companies as well as emerging companies are planned over a week period. We will stay in Nice and visit nearby Sophia-Antipolis and La Gaude.


Tour cost

The tour fee is CHF 1'690-/€ 1'090-, which includes local transportation and all visits. Accommodation including breakfast in an excellent hotel in Nice is included on a single basis. Shared accommodation (double)
is available for CHF 600-/€ 390- less. Several lunches and dinners are also included. Transportation to and from Nice are NOT included. Recommended are Easyjet flights 927 and 930, which cost ± CHF 50-*. There is also a direct TGV from Geneva to Nice.

For expenses not included participants should budget approximately € 30 per day.

(Webster) graduate students who would like to take the tour for academic credits need to register for the TELE 5220 course issues in Telecom Management during the Spring 2 term, 2004, see Syllabus in pdf format. The course fee is NOT included in the tour fee. A limited number of scholarships (CHF 800.-/each) is available for students who cannot afford the full cost (see registration form).
