"From Hollywood to Woodside"

The (Swiss) Silicon Valley Association (SVA) is organizing a tour intended for IT specialists and entrepreneurs. This tour will include four days in the Los Angeles area and three days in Silicon Valley visiting Universities, leading Internet companies and start-ups. Meetings with Entrepreneurs, Legal and Financial advisers are also on the program. The tour is organized and directed by Henri Slettenhaar (SVA) and Wolfgang Korosec of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ).

Program highlights:

Tuesday: Departure from GE/ZH. Early afternoon arrival in Los Angeles, check-in Radisson Huntley hotel, Santa Monica.

Wednesday: Santa Monica and East Los Angeles -> University of California (UCLA) - University of Southern California (USC) + Content startups.

Thursday: Silicon Freeway (Ventura Freeway 101) -> Technology companies and startups.

Friday: Pasadena area -> Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), Business Technology Center (incubator), etc.

Saturday/Sunday: Sightseeing trip to the San Francisco Bay Area along the California coast with a visit to Santa Barbara, Hearst Castle and an overnight stay in Morro Bay

Monday: Startups in San Francisco and meet the Swiss Entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley.

Tuesday: Silicon Valley including Apple and Akamai. Evening return flight to Zürich/Geneva.
